About Us

Who are we?

We are a youth basketball organization located in the Seattle area. We compete in AAU or Ameteur Athletic Union events.

Our Culture

Playing Time

Playing time is huge in basketball, especially pre-high school. That’s why we never allow more than 10 kids on a roster. We prefer to have an A/B team for each grade with 16-18 kids split amongst the 2 teams. This allows players to move between teams during the season. If an A/B team isn’t possible, we will recommend another program before making a team of 11/12.

Skill Development

Skill development is our calling card. We offer trainings throughout the season at an affordable price. These trainings all build off one another. Everything is based on logical progression. We allow players to come to a free training session before committing to anything. Sign up is month by month or season long.

Confidence

Confidence can change how an athlete plays the game. At OP Elite, we encourage our kids to have a next play attitude. If a player misses an open shot, we want them to keep shooting.  This is not to encourage selfish play, but to promote self-belief. We want our athletes to play to succeed and not limit themselves with fear.

Positivity

Positivity in basketball can change a team dynamic drastically. We want our players to understand how to communicate with one another in a productive manner.

Competitiveness

Competitiveness is an expectation. This doesn’t mean every player has to be naturally super competitive or have a cut-throat mentality. It means that we always play hard whether we are winning or losing.

What Does Playing on one of our teams look like?

Practices

Practices are generally twice a week for 90 min. They will be held at Spartan Rec Center some time between 6-9pm.

Training

We offer two training classes a week. These cost money to attend, but a free class is offered so players know what they are signing up for.

Games

The schedule is based off the level of the team. 9-12 tournaments a season is standard if not in peak league. If in peak league, then 4-6 tournaments is standard. See the "Team Schedule Info" page for more.

Travel

Most younger teams (pre-middle school) and lower level teams don't travel out of Washington. Really good younger teams and most of our older teams travel. See the "Team Schedule Info" page for more.
